On Friday, December 5 at 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle/pedestrian collision at the intersection of South and Lemarchant Streets in Halifax. According to witnesses, the vehicle involved was travelling westbound on South Street when it struck the pedestrian who was crossing the intersection northbound from Lemarchant Street. The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, was in a crosswalk when he was struck. He was taken to hospital for examination but did not suffer any serious injuries. The 67-year-old male driver was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
