At 4:40 a.m. on Friday, April 18 officers responded to St. Clair Avenue in Dartmouth to a report of a man breaking into vehicles. When the man realized a citizen had been watching him, he fled towards Avenue Du Portage. A police K-9 Unit was deployed and at 5:30 a.m. located the man on the grounds of Ecole Du Carrefour. Officers arrested the man without incident, and recovered stolen electronics and change. Officers determined two vehicles were entered and one garage door at one of the residences was opened. As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 37-year-old man with attempted break and enter, breach of recognizance, five counts of breaching a probation order and theft and possession under $5000. The accused has been remanded into custody.
