At 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, officers responded to 231 Herring Cove Road to a report of a robbery at the Petro Canada. The suspect entered the store displaying a note and with what is believed to be a sawed off shot gun located inside his waistband. The clerk was not injured and the suspect fled the store with a small amount of cash. He ran towards Layton Road where police believe he got into a vehicle. The suspect is described as a white man between 20-30 years of age, 5’11”, approximately 180 lbs., and wearing a black toque, black sunglasses and a blue winter jacket. Police have identified a 38-year-old man, who is known to police, as being responsible for this robbery. Police continue to investigate this incident and look for the suspect.
