At 4:46 p.m. on Friday, July 10, officers responded to an unwanted person call in the 0-100 block of Dawn Street in Halifax. As officers were removing unwanted people from an apartment, they recognized a 26-year-old woman who was arrestable by police. The woman fled to avoid the officers and entered a vacant apartment. While officers attempted to gain entry to that apartment, it appears that the woman jumped from a window as she was subsequently located on the ground outside the apartment building. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. As this incident resulted in injuries following police involvement, Halifax Regional Police contacted the Serious Incident Response Team and they are conducting an investigation into this matter.
