Halifax Regional Police Announces New Public Information Officer

Halifax Regional Police is pleased to announce Cst John MacLeod as its new Public Information Officer (PIO). He will begin liaising with media full time starting next week.

Cst MacLeod has been with HRP for 19 years starting in the Patrol Division and most recently working in the Training section.  His broad knowledge in policing, almost seven years of training experience and skills gained as a presenter in different settings will serve him well in his new role, communicating on behalf of HRP on a range of topics. He is a certified Drug Recognition Expert, a former member of HRP’s Honour Guard and a committed community contributor.

He takes over his new responsibilities from outgoing PIO Cst Dianne Penfound, who started this role in 2015, and most recently Cst Carol McIsaac, who performed this role in an acting capacity for the last seven months.  HRP welcomes Cst MacLeod to his new role as well as thanks Csts Penfound and McIsaac for their excellent work representing the service.
