Halifax Regional Police patrolling your neighbourhood

Students are heading back to university and college this week, and Halifax Regional Police want to ensure everyone settles in safely and understands the local laws.

Additional patrols will run throughout the month of September in the South End of Halifax. Through education, enforcement and high-visibility patrols, police are working to enhance public safety for both students and residents.

Being a good neighbour helps keep communities safe and welcoming for everyone. Safety concerns, public impairment, property damage and unreasonable noise levels should be reported to police and could result in charges. Here’s how you can help:

  • Call 911 if there is an immediate threat or danger
  • Call the police non-emergency line at 902-490-5020 for noise or driving complaints
  • Report crimes online if they are no longer in progress, like damaged property or stolen goods
  • Call 311 for non-emergency municipal government services including garbage collection, parking enforcement and unsightly properties
