In an effort to hear what more people have to say when it comes to the future direction of policing in HRM, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) has extended the deadline for their online survey.

Citizens will now have until Friday, November 15 to complete the survey.

“Though the number of survey responses has increased over the last few days, we need to hear from more of our citizens and employees to have a true sense of what is expected of HRP going forward,” explains Chief Jean-Michel Blais. “We’ve decided to extend the deadline to give those who have just learned about the survey the opportunity to have their say.”

HRP launched the 10-year strategic planning initiative called the REenvision Project on October 3 with an original survey deadline of October 31.

“We realize that as our community grows and evolves over the next 10 years, our role, services and approaches will need to change,” says Chief Blais. “I can’t stress the importance of receiving citizen input. We need to hear from you to ensure we’re moving in the direction that will best serve your needs and the needs of all communities.”
