On Friday November 4, Constables Randy Wood and Kathryn Willett of Halifax Regional Police were honoured during Alice Housing’s 30th anniversary gala.

Csts. Wood and Willett were recognized for going above and beyond in providing safety planning services for the women and children of Alice Housing. As past and present Community Response Officers for North Dartmouth, they were instrumental in a number of community initiatives for the area that enhances the safety of residents.

The mission of Alice Housing is to provide safe second stage housing and supportive counselling for women and children leaving domestic violence. Its goals are to provide women and children with the support and counselling needed to recover from the effects of abuse and trauma, and to decrease the chance that women and children will return to abusive households.

Halifax Regional Police commends Csts. Wood and Willett on being honoured by Alice Housing. We are very proud of everything they have accomplished and continue to undertake in their current roles, Cst. Wood as an investigator with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section and Cst. Willett as Community Response Officer for North Dartmouth.
