Earlier today, Chief Jean-Michel Blais and Commissioner Councillor Steve Craig of the Halifax Board of Police Commissioners swore-in 11 new police officers at a ceremony at NSCC Waterfront Campus. These officers came to Halifax Regional Police through a campaign we launched in Fall 2015 where we recruited cadets to attend the Atlantic Police Academy on PEI, with the intent of hiring them after they finished the program. The new officers will fill existing vacancies in the Patrol Division.
