The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents the streetlight conversion project that converts traditional streetlights into new energy efficient LED streetlights will continue next week in District 8 (Peninsula North).
Road users are advised that crews expect to be working on the following higher-volume streets during the upcoming week:
- Novalea Drive
- Devonshire Avenue
- Barrington Street
- Duffus Street
- Lady Hammond Road
Work on these streets will generally take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, but may also include some evening and weekend work. For short periods (less than one hour at a time), traffic signals on these streets may be set to flashing red or possibly turned off completely to accommodate the work.
Motorists are reminded that when signals are flashing red in all four directions the intersection must be treated as a four-way stop. If any signals are turned off, traffic control personnel will be on site to assist motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
The municipality appreciates your patience while this work is completed.
