Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of RCMP in New Brunswick, have located the body of Loretta Saunders.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. investigators located Loretta’s body in the median off Route 2 of the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Salisbury, New Brunswick. Forensic investigators from both Halifax Regional Police and RCMP in New Brunswick are in the process of retrieving her remains. As a result, the highway has been reduced to one lane of traffic near the scene.
Investigators have identified suspects in this homicide and they are not looking for anyone else. This homicide investigation is on-going and charges are anticipated.
