The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists the crane at The Alexander construction site will be dismantled this weekend, causing some traffic disruptions in the area.
The work will begin tomorrow at 6 p.m. and will continue until Sunday at 9 p.m. Road closures will be necessary on parts of Bishop Street and Lower Water Street while work is underway. Specifically, Bishop Street will be closed between Hollis and Lower Water streets, and Lower Water Street will be closed between Morris and Salter streets.
Traffic safety personnel will direct motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists around the worksite, as needed. It should be noted access to the affected streets will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles while the crane is dismantled.
Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.
