Beginning Thursday, February 28th Atlantic Road Construction & Paving Limited (ARCP), on behalf of Halifax Water will be closing MacDonald Street between Churchill Drive and Quinpool Road.
The road closure will be in place from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Thursday, February 28 – Friday, March 1st to allow for ongoing work related to the installation of a water and wastewater pipe bridge adjacent to the existing Quinpool Road Bridge (see attached work zone map).
The periodic lane drop and sidewalk closure in the outbound curb lane of Quinpool Road near the CN Railway-Quinpool Road bridge remains in place from 7:00 AM and 2:00 PM until April.
A section of Flinn Park is temporarily closed for the duration of the project. The trail remains open, but for safety during construction, a temporary trail is in place to divert trail users around the work zone.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists can expect delays as materials and equipment access the work site. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
