Man Arrested for Attempted Murder

Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have charged a man in connection with a shooting that occurred this past June in Halifax.

On June 25, at 11:11 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the 3200 block of Isleville Street for a report of shots fired in the area. No victims were located at the scene and there were no reported injuries. The subsequent investigation revealed that a male suspect, who was a passenger in a vehicle, fired several shots at two men and a woman who were in a separate vehicle which was parked on Isleville Street. The suspect vehicle then fled the area.

Nineteen-year-old Shaquille David Skinner of Dartmouth, who is incarcerated at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility on an unrelated matter, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today in relation to this shooting. He faces three counts each of attempted murder and discharging a firearm with intent, nine weapons-related offences and one count of breaching a court order.
