Man Charged in Stabbing Incident

Investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have charged a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred last weekend in Halifax.

On April 27, at 9 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to the 200 block of Main Avenue regarding a stabbing. A 26-year-old man approached two men in the hallway of an apartment building regarding excessive noise. This verbal confrontation escalated when one of the men produced a knife and swung it at the victim, resulting in a superficial cut to his neck. Both men fled the area prior to police arrival.

At 8 p.m. last night, officers assigned to the West Quick Response Unit arrested 18-year-old Joseph Douglas Rolfe of Halifax without incident. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today. He faces charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and five counts of breaching court orders.
