A man faces charges in connection with a robbery that occurred early Saturday morning in Dartmouth.

On April 21 at 1:16 a.m., members of Halifax Regional Police and RCMP responded to a robbery in progress at the Ultramar Gas Station located at 219 Pleasant Street. Staff reported that a man entered the store armed with a knife and demanded cash. The suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes. The clerk was not injured during the incident.

As a result of the investigation by officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section, a search was conducted last night of a residence on Renfrew Street in Dartmouth. Several items were seized and a man was arrested without incident.

Fifty-three-year-old Bryan Norman Cunningham faces charges of robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of breaching his probation. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
