At 1:15 a.m., booking officers working the police detention facility on Gottingen Street observed on video, a man in one of the holding tanks, assaulting another man housed with him. They quickly proceeded to the holding tank and located a 35-year-old male victim with serious facial injuries. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Both the suspect and the victim had previously been arrested for public intoxication earlier in the evening during unrelated incidents.
