A North Kentville man, who was charged in January with three child pornography charges, faces additional charges.

On January 4, investigators assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, with assistance from the RCMP Provincial ICE Unit and the New Minas RCMP, executed a warrant at a residence on Lamont Road in North Kentville. As a result of that investigation a man was charged with accessing, possessing and distributing child pornography.

Yesterday, as a result of further investigation, officers from the HRP/RCMP Integrated ICE Unit conducted a second search of the Lamont Road residence. A man was arrested without incident and additional items were seized. Based on the evidence, investigators believe the man was involved in the production of child pornography involving a child from another country. That child has been identified and investigators are working with the Canadian Center for Missing and Exploited Children to further the investigation.

In addition to the charges associated to the January 4 search, 36-year-old Jason Troy Pitts faces charges of making child pornography and conspiracy to commit a sexual assault. He is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on April 16, 2012.
