The Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a man following a three month-long investigation.
Last July, police initiated a child pornography investigation into allegations that a man was in possession of child pornography. As a result of the investigation, two searches were conducted this morning at a residence on Sprucevale Drive in Timberlea and a business on Oxford Street in Halifax. Computer equipment was seized during both searches and a man was arrested without incident during the Timberlea search.
30-year-old Aaron Kenneth Hudgins of Timberlea has been charged with one count each of possessing child pornography and accessing child pornography. He has been released from custody under conditions to not communicate with children under the age of 18, not possess a device able to access the internet and not be within 50 meters of a place frequented by children. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on December 10.
