Last night at 10:05 p.m., Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a call of an 18-wheeler tractor trailer that had overturned on the Fairview Overpass. The vehicle had been travelling on the ramp from Joseph Howe Drive to the Fairview Overpass when cargo in the trailer shifted causing the vehicle to overturn on to its side. The driver of the truck was the only occupant and was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons. He has since been released from hospital.
The Fairview Overpass was closed to all vehicle traffic until 2:30 a.m. to allow for a crane in to lift the vehicle back on to its wheels. At this time the matter is still under investigation.
