Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that work is continuing to extend the natural gas main on Alderney Drive between North and Ochterloney streets.

The pipe installation and subsequent restoration work is expected to take approximately 2-3 weeks. Work crews will shut down daily for rush hour (between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.). Two lanes of traffic are expected to be maintained at all times. The sidewalk on the east side of the road will be closed during construction but the west sidewalk is expected to remain open.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
