Wednesday, August 12, 2015 – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that work will begin today to extend the natural gas main on Summer Street, between Bell Road and Veterans Memorial Lane; on Veterans Memorial Lane, between Summer Street and Robie Street; and on Robie Street between Binney Street and Cherry Street.
Work will begin on Summer Street. At least two lanes of traffic will be maintained for most of the work on Summer Street. No work will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The pipe installation and subsequent restoration is expected to take approximately seven weeks.
An updated PSA will be issued as the work location progresses and traffic control situations change.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
