Halifax Regional Police (HRP) is pleased to introduce Neera Ritcey as its new Public Relations and Communications Manager. She will assume the role effective Monday, August 21.

Ms. Ritcey brings extensive experience in integrated communications, stakeholder engagement and media relations. Before joining HRP, Ms. Ritcey held progressive roles at Nova Scotia Power and Emera where she led integrated communications initiatives targeted at both traditional and digital media audiences as well as diverse stakeholder and community groups. She also spent nearly seven years working with the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, starting as a Constituency Assistant and progressing to the Press Secretary to the Leader of BC’s Official Opposition Caucus.

“We’re very pleased to have Ms. Ritcey join our talented Public Relations and Communications team,” said HRP Chief Jean-Michel Blais. “I fully expect that she will build upon the successes already achieved by this experienced unit, while contributing to HRP’s vision of building and maintaining confidence, trust and safety through community partnership as well as effective and cutting-edge communication approaches.”

The role of the Public Relations and Communications Manager involves leading communication strategies, providing strategic counsel and communicating the priorities of the police service.

Ms. Ritcey holds a postgraduate certificate in Public Relations (with Honours) from Humber College in Toronto, a certification in Investor Relations from the Ivey Business School with the University of Western Ontario and a bachelor of arts and a master of arts from Panjab University in India.
