Policing is generally very serious business, especially of late, so we think it’s good to share a chuckle from time to time.
During nightshift on Tuesday night, one of our Sergeants pulled a young motorist over in his late-model pick-up truck to let him know that his taillights weren’t working. The man thanked our officer and politely brought to his attention that his newer police car had a headlight out. They both laughed at the irony and wished each other a safe night. Yesterday our officer said, “I'm still laughing. True story; can’t make that stuff up. Police work has funny moments.”
The officer was working in Lower Sackville on his day off to allow RCMP members to attend the regimental funeral in Moncton to honour the fallen officers.
