The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to complete a survey to collect feedback on the potential sale, or long-term lease, of municipal parkland for a new school in the forested area of Park West School Park, in Clayton Park West.
The Nova Scotia Department of Infrastructure and Housing has requested that the municipality consider whether the parkland could be acquired from the municipality as a suitable location to build a new school. This is in response to school enrollment increases in the Clayton Park West area.
Residents can complete the approximately five-minute survey, from now until Monday, June 21. Feedback will help the municipality understand community needs and concerns, as well as inform an upcoming staff report to Regional Council.
In addition to the survey, residents have the opportunity to provide input directly to municipal staff via email, or to ask school-related questions to provincial staff.

La Municipalité régionale d’Halifax invite les résidents à remplir un sondage afin de recueillir des commentaires sur la vente éventuelle, ou la location à long terme, d’un parc municipal pour une nouvelle école dans la zone boisée du parc West School Park, à Clayton Park West.
Le ministère de l’Infrastructure et du Logement de la Nouvelle-Écosse a demandé à la municipalité d’examiner si le parc pourrait être acquis de la municipalité comme un endroit approprié pour construire une nouvelle école. Cela est dû à l’augmentation des inscriptions scolaires dans la région de Clayton Park West.
Les résidents peuvent remplir le sondage d’environ cinq minutes, d’ici le lundi 21 juin. La rétroaction aidera la municipalité à comprendre les besoins et les préoccupations de la collectivité, et elle informera le Conseil régional d’un rapport du personnel à venir.
En plus du sondage, les résidents ont la possibilité de fournir des commentaires directement au personnel municipal par courriel ou de poser des questions relatives à l’école au personnel provincial.
