Pedestrian/vehicle collision

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 11:45 a.m., a 65-year-old woman was pushing a stroller carrying a 2-year-old boy along the sidewalk on Herring Cove Road. She crossed Aldergrove Drive in an unmarked crosswalk and both she and the stroller were hit by a vehicle turning right from Aldergrove Drive to Herring Cove Road. Although the vehicle stopped after the collision, the driver did not get out and the vehicle left the area travelling inbound on Herring Cove Road. The woman suffered minor injuries and later reported the incident to police. The child was not injured.

The vehicle is described as a light burgundy sedan and was driven by an elderly male driver with an elderly female passenger.
