Police arrest assault suspect

Police have arrested the third suspect related to an assault earlier this month on a Halifax Transit bus driver. 

On July 8 at 9:20 p.m., officers responded to the bus terminal at 24 Nantucket Avenue in Dartmouth for a disturbance. A 44-year-old male bus driver attempted to intervene during a fight between two females but was quickly surrounded by a group of male youths. Three of the males assaulted the driver by knocking him to the ground and kicking him in the face before they fled the area on foot.  Two of the suspects were previously arrested and charged. 

Nineteen-year-old Tyere Brushett of Dartmouth, the third suspect in this matter, appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court earlier today and is charged with assault causing bodily harm and breach of a probation order.Police thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.
