Officers with the West Division Quick Response Unit arrested a man for drug trafficking in Halifax.
On March 1 at approximately 4:40 p.m. officers undertook a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Windsor Street, Halifax. Police located and seized a large quantity of Canadian currency and a quantity of pills believed to be hydromorphone. A 50-year-old Halifax man was arrested without incident.
Police and the Service Nova Scotia Compliance and Special Investigations Unit later attended a residence on Lynett Road in Halifax and each executed a search warrant. During the search, officers located and seized a quantity of illegal cigarettes, a quantity of marihuana and drug paraphernalia.
The man faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in hydromorphone and possession for the purpose of trafficking in marihuana. He also faces charges of possession of unstamped and untaxed tobacco under the Revenue Act. The man was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on April 11.
