A man was arrested this afternoon after police received information he was in possession of a firearm.
At 2:26 p.m., police responded to a report of a man with a handgun who was seen boarding a Metro Transit Bus. The bus was located a few minutes later in the area of Wyse Road and Elmwood Avenue and officers arrested an 18-year-old man. A starter pistol, which is designed to fire blanks and is commonly used to start races, was recovered.
The investigation is in its early stages and a decision on charges has not yet been made.
