Police charge driver with stunting GO#20-43456

On April 8 at 1:33 a.m., Halifax Regional Police observed a white Mercedes sedan driving at a high rate of speed on Quinpool Road near Harvard Street, Halifax. Using vehicle radar the officer was able to lock the vehicle’s speed at 103 Km/h in a 50 Km/h zone.

A 19-year-old woman from Halifax was charged with Stunting and operating a motor vehicle after midnight as a newly licensed driver, both charges are under the Motor Vehicle Act. 

Stunting is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit. The fine in Nova Scotia for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver’s record. In addition, the woman was suspended from driving for one week and her vehicle was seized.
