Police charge man for child pornography offences

Police have charged a Halifax man for child pornography offences.

On April 10, 2018 police began an investigation after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre that a Halifax man had posted child pornography online.

On February 14, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search of an address in Halifax. and seized electronic devices and media storage devices for forensic analysis. The suspect was arrested at the address without incident.

Forty-seven-year-old Phillip Travers Milo of Halifax will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face the following charges:

  • Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code - Possession of Child Pornography
  • Section 163.1(3) of the Criminal Code - Distribution of Child Pornography

Police remind citizens that it is mandatory in Nova Scotia to report suspected child pornography. Police ask anyone with information on child pornography to call police at 902-490-5020 or by using Cybertip, Canada's National Tip Line for reporting online sexual exploitation of children, at www.cybertip.ca.
