Police charge man in relation to child pornography investigation

Police have charged a man after conducting a search in Dartmouth in relation to a child pornography investigation.

 Yesterday, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search of an address in Dartmouth after receiving information that a man had obtained and was sharing pornographic material of children under the age of 16 online. Investigators seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.

Brennan Oake, 22, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Luring a person under the age of 16
  • Providing sexually explicit material to a child
  • Publication of an intimate image without consent
  • Uttering threats
  • Distribution of child pornography
  • Possession of child pornography

Anyone with information on child pornography is asked to file a report by calling police at 902-490-5020 or by using Cybertip, Canada's National Tip Line for reporting online sexual exploitation of children, at www.cybertip.ca.
