Police have charged a man for a sexual assault that occurred on July 1 in Halifax.
At approximately 9 p.m. police responded to a report of a man who had sexually assaulted a woman who was not known to him in the 1700 block of Barrington Street. The man had touched the woman in a sexual manner. Police located the man in the area and arrested him without incident.
A 53-year-old-man has been charged with one count of sexual assault. He has been released on conditions and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date.
