Police charge man for theft from vehicle

Police have charged a man in relation to a theft from a vehicle that occurred in Halifax last night.

At approximately 7:35 p.m. police responded to a report of an in-progress theft from a vehicle on Mont Blanc Terrace. A man, who had been stealing property from the vehicle, fled when the owner entered the vehicle. Officers arrested the man a short distance away without incident.

Michael Donald Clarke, 39, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face one count each of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
