Halifax Regional Police has been dealing with several weather-related issues throughout dayshift on Sunday, February 15, including responding to stranded motorists who stalled their vehicles in flood waters. Additionally, the roads that flooded throughout the day are now freezing, making travel very difficult. Residents are urged to stay off the roads. HRM crews are busy trying to clear catch basins and salt the freezing roads. Some roads are still impassable as of 5 p.m.

As reported earlier, officers responded to the Halifax Curling Club on South Bland Street in Halifax in relation to a partial roof collapse under the weight of the snow. The building was vacant at the time and, thankfully, no injuries were reported.
