Police Continue to Investigate Murder of Gail Stone and Richard Marriott

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the murder of Gail Stone and Richard Marriott and the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the case.

On November 20, 1998, at 9:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a double shooting at 15 Parkmoor Avenue in Halifax. Upon police arrival, Gail Marie Stone was located inside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Gail was transported to hospital; however, she died from her injuries four days later.

Richard Joseph Marriott, Gail’s common law husband, who used a wheelchair, was also located inside the residence suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Richard was last seen alive at approximately 9:15 p.m. the same day on Dutch Village Road. Richard was driving a maroon colored 1996 Dodge Caravan, and it is believed that he arrived home at approximately 9:30 p.m.
