Police Continue to Investigate Murder of Jonathan Reader

Today is the seventh anniversary of the murder of Jonathan Reader which the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.

At approximately 4:10 a.m. on August 7, 2005, 19-year-old Jonathan Reader was found unconscious on the roadway at Radcliffe Drive and Dunbrack Street. Mr. Reader was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. The matter was later ruled a homicide.

In tracking Mr. Reader’s activities earlier that morning, investigators have determined that he left the Pacifico Bar and Grill at 1:57 a.m. with an unidentified woman and was then in the area of Dutch Village Road at 3:20 a.m., at which time it is believed he was alone.

Homicide detectives continue to receive and follow-up on information in relation to this file. They urge citizens with information about the case, particularly anyone who may have seen anything out of the ordinary in the area of Radcliffe Drive and Dunbrack Street in the early morning hours of August 7, 2005, to come forward.
