Police Continue to Investigate the Murder of Kevin James Petrie

Today marks the tenth anniversary of the murder of Kevin James Petrie and the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the case. 

On March 28, 2004, at 1 p.m., police responded to 7132 Spruce Street in Halifax for a report that Mr. Petrie was in medical distress. He was transported to hospital where he later died.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Petrie was the victim of a home invasion and a serious assault on March 17, 2004, at 269 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth. It is believed that the injuries sustained during this home invasion were a contributing factor in his death. Police believe there are individuals who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges.
