Today is the second anniversary of the murder of Keya Simon and the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the case.
At 11:20 p.m. on January 8, 2011 Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 117 Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. Upon arrival, officers found 19-year-old Keya Knita Simon unresponsive inside the front doors of the apartment building. Her 32-year-old sister had also been stabbed.
Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit believe there are people who have information about this incident who have not come forward. Police encourage those people, or anyone with information about this incident, to come forward. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 490-5016.
