Police continue to investigate murder of Raymond Peters

Today is the first anniversary of the murder of Raymond Floyd Peters and the Integrated HRP/RCMP Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the case.

On January 7, 2013, at 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Primrose Street and Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth. An altercation occurred in a backyard at that location that resulted in 24-year-old Raymond Peters being shot several times. He was able to run to a residence on Jackson Road where he took refuge in an apartment. He was transported to hospital where he passed away on January 8. 

The suspect, who fled on foot, was described as a black man in his twenties, 5’8”, with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue hoodie and black pants.

Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit believe there are people who have information about this incident who have not come forward.
