Police continue to investigate stolen motor vehicle

Halifax Regional Police is continuing to investigate an assault with a weapon in relation to a stolen motor vehicle that occurred in Halifax last week and are releasing additional photos of the suspects.  

On March 8 at approximately 3:30 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment received a report of a motor vehicle that was stolen in Timberlea. At approximately 3:40 a.m., Halifax Regional Police located the stolen black Volkswagen Golf and attempted to stop it in the 100 block of Chain Lake Drive in Halifax. The driver did not stop and continued at a slow speed. A dark colored Ford pickup truck, which was following behind the police vehicle, struck the police vehicle causing the officer’s vehicle to leave the road. The two suspect vehicles then fled the area. The officer was not physically injured.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. investigators recovered the Volkswagen Golf parked and unoccupied near Grand Haven Boulevard in Halifax.

The second suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored Ford F150 with an extended cab, Nova Scotia license plate GKV546.

Investigators are also looking to identify a woman who was seen operating the Ford pickup truck believed to be involved in the incident. She is described as a white woman with long blonde hair, approximately 5’8” tall, with a medium build and wearing black clothing.
