The suspects that Halifax Regional Police requested the public’s assistance in identifying have been located and arrested.

On March 8, at approximately 3:30 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment received a report of a motor vehicle that was stolen in Timberlea. At approximately 3:40 a.m., Halifax Regional Police located the stolen black Volkswagen Golf and attempted to stop it in the 100 block of Chain Lake Drive in Halifax. The driver did not stop and continued at a slow speed. A dark colored Ford pickup truck, which was following behind the police vehicle, struck the police vehicle causing the officer’s vehicle to leave the road. The two suspect vehicles then fled the area. The officers were not physically injured. At approximately 11:40 p.m., investigators recovered the Volkswagen Golf parked and unoccupied near Grand Haven Boulevard in Halifax.

Today, members of New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit along with members of the New Brunswick Detachment of the RCMP, and the Saint John Police, arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the above incident. The investigation is ongoing.
