Police Investigate Aggravated Assault

At approximately 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, Halifax Regional Police officers responded to the 0-100 block of Primrose St. in Dartmouth in response to an assault in progress. A witness to the incident stated they observed a woman lying on the ground and a man kicking her repeatedly.

Upon arrival, police located the victim still lying on the sidewalk suffering from what appeared to be a serious head injury. The suspect had fled the scene. The 53-year-old woman from the Dartmouth area was taken to the QEII where she remains in serious but stable condition at this time. Members of the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section have been investigating this matter since its occurrence, but no arrests have been made at this point. The suspect is described as a white man in his 20’s, approximately 5’8 and 185 lbs, with short brown hair, and wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans.
