Police investigate assault

Police are investigating an assault involving a group of youths that occurred earlier this week in Dartmouth.

On January 31, police received a report that an assault had occurred earlier that day, at approximately 5:30 p.m., near 40 Alderney Drive. A group of approximately 10 youth assaulted and took property from another youth who was known to them. One of the youths had what is believed to be a replica firearm.

Yesterday officers arrested a 14-year-old youth, and they are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth youth court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Robbery
  • Assault
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
  • Pointing a firearm

The investigation is ongoing and is being investigated by members of the General Investigation Section of the integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
