Police are investigating an assault that occurred this morning at Halifax West High School.
At 11:25 a.m., police responded to an assault in progress at Halifax West High School located at 283 Thomas Raddall Drive in Halifax. Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male student who had been punched and kicked several times by another male student. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of a broken cheekbone. The suspect was arrested nearby without incident.
An 18-year-old male student is facing charges of assault causing bodily harm. He has been released from custody and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on June 24.
