Police investigate break and enter at a church

Police are investigating a break and enter that occurred at church in Bedford this week.

On January 27, police received a report of a break and enter into a church at 1200 Bedford Highway that had occurred sometime between the evening of January 26 and the early morning of January 27. The suspect(s) stole a number of items from the church including collection plates and a cross. Church officials also reported that a Black Lives Matter banner had been vandalized.

The investigation by members of the General Investigation Section of Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is in the early stages and at this point, we can’t speculate on the motive. Investigators are looking into whether both incidents are connected.
