Police Investigate Car/Pedestrian Collision

Halifax Regional Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a driver involved in a car/pedestrian collision that occurred yesterday in Bedford.

At 5 p.m., police responded to a car/pedestrian collision at the intersection of Bedford Highway and Dartmouth Road. A 17-year-old female crossing Bedford Highway in a marked crosswalk was hit by a vehicle turning left from Dartmouth Road onto Bedford Highway heading toward Halifax. The vehicle stopped in the parking lot of the Chickenburger Restaurant and the driver spoke with the female. He then left the area before police arrival, heading toward Halifax. The female was treated at the scene by EHS for non life-threatening injuries. The vehicle is described as white pickup truck and the driver, as a white man in his twenties with blond hair.
