Police Investigate Robbery

Officers assigned to the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section are investigating a robbery that took place yesterday in Halifax.

At approximately 5:25 p.m., a 22-year-old man was at the basketball court at the Merv Sullivan Park, commonly known at “The Pit”, located off the north end of Novalea Drive. He was approached by a group of people and one of the men in the group hit the victim, knocking him to the ground, where he was further assaulted and relieved of personal property. The group left the area and the victim, who was not injured, was able to return home and contact police. The victim said the group consisted of seven black men and one black woman who appeared to be in their late teens.
