Police investigate sexual assault



Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Dartmouth last month and are asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect.

Police received a report that on January 19 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a man approached a group of youth, who were not known to him, at the Mic Mac bus terminal. The man followed the group of youth onto a bus, made sexual comments to the group and touched some of the youths in a sexual manner. The youths exited the bus and reported the incident to trusted adults.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s to 50s, approximately 5'6” tall, with short white hair, wearing a black and grey checkered jacket, a black hat and was carrying a camouflage print backpack.

We are not releasing further details out of respect and concern for the survivors’ privacy and well-being.
