Police investigate single vehicle collision Go# 19-37280

On March 13 at 9:38 p.m. Halifax Regional Police, Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency and Emergency Health Services responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on the 111 Hwy. at Exit 7, Portland St., Dartmouth.  A single vehicle lost control and struck a street lamp pole, knocking it over at the base and exposing wires. The driver was the lone occupant, sustained minor injuries and has been transported to the hospital. The highway was icy at the time of the collision.  The Nova Scotia Department of Transportation has attended and spread salt on the highway. Traffic had been reduced to one lane in both directions on the 111 Highway near Exit 7, while the street light pole was removed. The road is now open and police have cleared the scene.
